Rdesktop Autoselected Keyboard Map En-us Error Unable To Connect

 Posted admin
  1. Apr 18, 2010  I can't connect the guest on host $ rdesktop 192.168.0.30 Autoselected keyboard map en-us ERROR: 192.168.0.30: unable to connect On VBox I run; $ rdesktop 192.168.0.30:3389 It connects. Here I don't know which port to be used.
  2. My company uses a Barracuda VPN for remote logins. When I tried to access this from a linux box running the latest version (1.8.3) it merely created a connection and closed the connection--rdesktop couldn't connect.

I can use rdesktop fine on my Linux Mint (3.2.0-23-generic kernel) system like this :

~$ rdesktop -uVistaUsername -pmypassword 192.168.0.102 -g1024x768 -a16 -xl Autoselected keyboard map en-gb ERROR: 192.168.0.102: unable to connect On the Vista side I'm getting only a few Event Viewer entries showing that I tried to connect. It showing something like 'Someone tried to connect using explicit credentials'.

rdesktop IPAddress

However, I'd like to run rdesktop through my OpenSSH ssh tunnel. I using the following:

ssh user@localhost rdesktop 123.456.789.123

enter password : PasswordInputted

The IP number 127.0.0.1 is ONLY available on the current host you are running. You can connect to yourself using this IP. You cannot externally connect to a different host (virtual or external) using this IP address.

You'll have to find the IP address that was assigned to the virtual host and ssh to that host.
